In Which I Disagree with the Great KO

(this was a comment posted on KO's 2nd Special Comment thread)
I guess that I have to disagree with Keith Olbermann, somebody with whom I agree on many subjects--economic policy, constitutional rights, war and peace, and fairness and equality of opportunity.
I think that Olbermann's missing a few very important points in the midst of his outrage...
Is This What We've Come To?

OK, I'm a regular Commenter at Time's crazy MSM "blog" Swampland.
There are some battles going on there between very committed Obama supporters and uncommitted Democrats, and a slight few normally stupid threads going on between Republicans and Democrats. Not as bad as here most of the time.
Things weren't looking that dirty, until I ran across this incredible comment in a post-South Carolina Debate post by Joe Klein (below the fold)...
You People are Democrats, Right?

Some Democrats are holding up a column by Robert Novak as "proof" of Hillary Clinton's "character issues".
So...the next time Bob Novak runs a column or goes on television and
says something like this (From MediaMatters Fri, Jan 14, 2005 )
NOVAK: Howard Dean is running for Democratic National Chairman the same way he ran for president: as the squeaky clean candidate. Well, he may have been squeaky, but he wasn't so clean. Zephyr Teachout, who was head of Internet outreach for the Dean campaign, has revealed the campaign hired two political bloggers to say positive things about Dr. Dean at the price of $3,000 a month -- that's play for pay. Meanwhile, one of the great former DNC chairmen, Bob Strauss, has endorsed one of the candidates, and it is indeed former Congressman Martin Frost, who, like Strauss, is a moderate and a Texan. Will the DNC members be that smart?
, you folks will generally agree that "he's pretty accurate, mostly"?
...and Fox News does some pretty good reporting on the war, right?
Let's remember who Bob Novak is, shall we (below the fold)...
Tom Friedman: Always Wrong Again

Op-Ed Columnist
Failing by Example
By THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN
If you want to know why we are losing in Iraq...[Bush/Cheney's] degree of partisanship — loyalty over competence — was destructive in a much bigger way...
Democrats need to be careful, though, that they don’t let their rage with the hypocrisy of Mr. Bush make them totally crazy, and blind them to the fact that they — we — still need a credible plan to deal with the very real threat to open societies posed by Islamist terrorism...
Thomas Friedman again.
I can't believe that this guy still has a job.
How long do we have to read/watch some worthless hack with a zero average on the Iraq disaster pretend to have any credibility on the subject?
He solemnly states what was obvious three years ago, and then, to demonstrate his obligatory "centrist"/"bipartisan" beltway bona fides, dutifully regurgitates the old Broderist Sunday talk-show "Democrats must be careful to not overreach" trope.
Because in Tom's world he's still right about "Islamo-fascism" and all that..even if he's been wrong about everything else (every four-to-six months) for the past five years!
Here's what I think about his wretched piece...
Finally, I Understand George

Like many of you, I've been a good liberal about George Bush...

Chuck Schumer on Meet the Press, or: How Not to Defend a Nation
Mon Jan 09, 2006 at 05:08:21 PM PDT
Does anyone truly believe that Chuck Schumer is unaware of following?
From page two of Alito's job application (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/...):
"Most recently, it has been an honor and source of personal satisfaction for me to serve in the office of the Solicitor General during President Reagan's administration and TO HELP TO ADVANCE LEGAL POSITIONS IN WHICH I PERSONALLY BELIEVE VERY STRONGLY." (caps mine)

Good Luck Hijacking Your Best Shot, or
An open letter to those shrill fools who insist on wasting valuable time arguing about whether to blame the Bush Administration for racism first, or for classism first
